The threat of winter storms decimated Tuesday's schedule, forcing the postponement of 20 of 45 schedule games.
There were some notable showdowns the went off as planned, however: Lakeville South beating Lakeville North in Round 1 of their annual Cat Fight, Orono topping Northfield in a matchup of top-seven Class 1a teams and Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper stunning Providence Academy with an eight-goal first period.
But the weight of the week’s schedule tips toward the weekend where some of the young season’s most anticipated games await.
Rogers at Minnetonka — No. 1 versus No. 3 in Legacy Hockey’s latest Class 2A rankings — on Saturday afternoon looms as The Game of the Season, at least thus far. Fans eager to see the blue-on-blue showdown are advised to arrive early. The Pagel Activity Center will no doubt be packed.
Weather gods willing.
