BEMIDJI - Abram Waage scored with 2:03 left in overtime to boost Roseau past Section 8AA rival Bemidji 4-3 on Monday at the Bemidji Community Arena in one of 17 games played statewide.
Waage, a senior forward, skated the puck out of the right corner and fired a low shot from just inside the face-off circle that beat screened Bemidji goaltender Christian Hill.
Bemidji (5-3-0) built a 3-1 lead with 5:40 left in the second on Landon Knott's power-play goal. Tanner Paulson answered for Roseau a minute later to pull the Rams (3-6-0) to within 3-2 heading into the third.
Jude Wittrock's power-play goal, with an assist from Waage, with 3:12 left in the third tied it at 3-3. Anton Klint scored a first-period goal for Roseau, his team-leading seventh of the season.
Brendan Simmons made 29 saves for Roseau; Hill had 25 stops for Bemidji. Hill ranks fourth in the state in save percentage (.947) and fifth in goals-against average (1.32).
ALEXANDRIA - Easton Monahan scored 56 seconds into overtime to lift St. Michael-Albertville past Alexandria 4-3 at the PrimeWest Health Runestone Community Center.
Monahan took a feed at the blue line from Owen Verness, raced into the Alexandria zone and fired a low shot from the bottom of the right face-off circle that beat Cardinals goaltender Brady Schluter. The goal was the first of the season for Monahan, a junior forward.
Alexandria (3-5-0) rallied from a 3-0 deficit to force the extra period. Evan Klimek, Connor Wang and Grady Olson scored in the second period to tie the score at 3-3.
Hunter Hansen and Caden Clark scored in the first period and Braeden Waller early in the second as St. Michael-Albertville (6-4-0) built its three-goal lead.
RED LAKE FALLS - Liam Marquardt's third goal of the game boosted Mayville/Portland, N.D., to a wild 8-7 victory over Red Lake Falls at Cardin-Hunt Arena.
Mayville/Portland's Wyatt Heskin's scored during a goalmouth scramble with 1.1 seconds left in regulation to force the extra period.
The teams combined for seven first-period goals and six in the third. Red Lake Falls (7-2-0) scored four unanswered goals in the third before Heskin's buzzer beater.
Dennis Lanctot scored twice and was the only Eagles player with more than a single goal.
NEW PRAGUE - New Prague sophomore Keenan Huber's power-play goal with 57 seconds left in the third period forced overtime as the Trojans and Mankato West skated to a 4-4 tie at the New Prague Community Center.
Keaton Dorze scored twice for Mankato West (3-1-0) and goaltender Mason Schreiber made an eye-popping 43 saves. Caden Breeggemann had a goal and two assists for new Prague (5-2-1).
ALBERT LEA - Maddox Domagala's hat trick provided just enough scoring for unbeaten Luverne to hold off Albert Lea 5-4 at Albert Lea City Arena.
Domagala, a senior forward who ranks second in the state with 17 goals, put No. 15-1A Luverne (11-0-0) ahead 1-0 14 seconds into the opening period. He gave the Cardinals a 3-1 lead in the second period and 5-3 lead in the third.
Drake Sternhagen scored twice for Albert Lea (5-4-0).
BLOOMINGTON - Unbeaten Bloomington Jefferson fell behind early then scored five unanswered goals, by five different players, as it rolled past Apple Valley/Burnsville 5-1 at the Bloomington Ice Garden.
Spencer Miller gave Apple Valley/Burnsville (2-6-0) the early 1-0 lead.
The Jaguars (10-0-0) tied it at 1-1 with 13 seconds left in the first on a goal by Brayden Thomas. The Jaguars scored two goals in each of the second and third periods as they took control.
Junior goaltender Jack Frein made 16 saves for Bloomington Jefferson. He ranks first in the state with a 0.97 goals-against average and second with a .949 save percentage.
CROOKSTON - Thief River Falls knocked Crookston from the ranks of the unbeatens by scoring the first three goals en route to a 3-1 triumph at the Crookston Sports Center.
Spencer Anderson scored in the first period, Beckem Johnson in the second and Jed Kelly in the third as the Prowlers (4-6-0) built a 3-0 lead. Anderson's goal was his 15th of the season, tied for sixth most in the state.
Garrett Fischer scored the lone goal for Crookston (6-1-1).
