BRAINERD - Zander Peterson converted a pass across the crease from his brother Axton Peterson with 5:23 left in overtime to complete Brainerd's 5-4 come-from-behind win over Sauk Rapids-Rice at Essentia Health Sports Center, one of four games played statewide on Monday.
The Warriors (1-1-0) trailed 2-1 after the first and 4-2 after two periods.
Sauk Rapids-Rice (0-1-1) scored twice in the first period, the goals coming from Dominic Stucke and Austin Kubasek. Brainerd's Richard Pyle scored the first of his three goals with 6:33 left in the first.
Pyle opened the scoring in the second but the Storm's Chase Hiltner completed a give-and-go with Stucke to put Sauk Rapids-Rice ahead 3-2. Stucke scored again on the power play for a 4-2 lead.
Pyle started the comeback by scoring with 7:21 to play in regulation and Kellen Ellingson evened score at 4-4 with 4:25 left in the third, setting the stage for Peterson's game-winning goal in overtime.
HASTINGS - Six players scored goals for Hastings as the Raiders handed Dodge County a 6-2 loss at the Hastings Civic Arena.
The Raiders (1-2-0) led 2-0 after the first period after a power-play goal by Finn Aruba and a goal by Jonas Schauer.
Hastings pushed the lead to 5-0 when Isaac Meyers, Andrew McGraw and Carter Hanson scored. Dodge County (1-1-0) answered with a goal by Camryn Koch.
Blake Weber opened the third-period scoring for Hastings while Gabe Coshenet scored for Dodge County. Schauer added three assists to his first-period goal while Hanson was credited with two assists.
PARK RAPIDS - Coby Knott and Riley Broden each scored two goals as Red Lake Falls scored the game's first five goals in the Eagles' 7-2 win over Park Rapids at the Ted O. Johnson Ice Arena.
Knott's two first-period goals sandwiched a Broden goal as the Eagles (2-1-0) led 3-0 after 17 minutes.
Oliver Melin and Dawson Erickson scored in the second for Red Lake Falls before Park Rapids (0-4-0) opened the third period with goals from Carter Bennett and Gustav Pedersen.
Kegan Schmitz and Broden rounded out the scoring in the final minutes. Knott also was credited with two assists.
SOUTH ST. PAUL - South St. Paul's Jace Erb scored twice in the first 83 seconds as the Packers defeated La Crescent-Hokah 5-3 at Doug Woog Arena.
The Packers (3-1-0), who have won three-straight games after opening the season with a loss, led 4-0 after Owen Schmidt's goal 3:23 into the second.
La Crescent-Hokah (1-0-1) scored three-straight goals, two by Ben Schoepel. His first came with 29 seconds left in the second and his second goal happened with 7:19 to play, making it 4-3.
However, Roman Knight scored 32 seconds later for South St. Paul for the final margin.
