PRINcETON - Senior forward Blake Schultz completed his hat trick in the most dramatic of ways, scoring with 3 seconds remaining to give River Lakes a 5-4 victory over Princeton at First Bank and Trust Ice Arena.
Princeton trailed 4-1 with 3:50 remaining then got goals from Lane Olson, Levi Senne and Dominic Patnode to tie it at 4-4. Patnode's goal came with 35.4 seconds left and appeared to have forced an overtime period.
Schultz won a face-off with 8.4 seconds left, then jammed in the rebound of Jace Griffin's point shot with 3.0 on the clock. Schultz's three goals give him a team-best 21 on the season and tied for fifth most in the state.
River Lakes improved to 10-3-2 with the victory.
Patnode scored twice for Princeton (4-10-0).
LITTLE FALLS - John Scott scored three goals, including one of Duluth Denfeld's two empty netters, as the Hunters beat Little Falls 6-4 at Exchange Arena.
Ryan Oothoudt scored three goals for Little Falls (6-4-1), and his second goal came 27 seconds into the third period and tied the score at 3-3.
Tristin Nephew put Duluth Denfeld (7-8-0) ahead 4-3 with 8:02 left.
VIRGINIA - Colton Bialke scored twice and Steven Ranisate made 22 saves as Rock Ridge stretched its unbeaten streak to nine games with a 3-0 win over Sartell-St. Stephen at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center.
The goals were the seventh and eighth of the season for Bialke, a junior forward. The shutout was the first of the season for Ranisate, a senior.
Grady Dimberio also scored for No. 20-2A Rock Ridge (12-3-1).
Noah Kahre made 23 saves for Sartell-St. Stephen (5-6-1).
HALLOCK - William Yerxa scored three straight goals in the second period to help propel International Falls to a 5-0 victory over Kittson Central at Hallock Ice Arena.
Yerxa scored all three of his goals in the second period, putting the Broncos (10-3-0) ahead 3-0. Anthony Yerxa added three assists.
Kane Thompson mad 15 saves for his third shutout of the season.
Jameson Turner made 40 saves for Kittson Central (5-7-1).
TWO HARBORS - Kade Norman and Ayden Althaus each scored three goals as North Shore cruised past Mora/Milaca 7-1 at Sonju Arena.
Althaus scored all three of his goals and Norman had two in the second period as North Shore (5-11-0) built a 5-0 lead.
Charlie Kritzeck scored for Mora/Milaca (5-10-0).
