DULUTH - Junior forward Alex Udd scored 73 seconds into overtime to lead Duluth Denfeld to a 2-1 victory over intracity rival Duluth East on Saturday at the Essentia Duluth Heritage Center.
Udd grabbed loose puck at the blue line, cut to the high slot and fired a low shot past Duluth East goaltender Nolan Nygaard for the winning goal. The goal was Udd's fourth of the the season.
The Greyhounds' Kyle Peterson scored on a power play in the second to open the scoring. Denfeld's John Scott scored a short-handed goal with 6:44 left in that period to tie the score.
Liam Fish stopped 32 shots for the Hunters (3-7-0) while Nolan Nygaard made 34 saves for East (2-9-0).
MINNETONKA - Peyton Chase scored goals in the second and third periods to help Shakopee forge a 2-2 tie with Minnetonka at the Pagel Activity Center.
Chase, a senior forward, scored on the power play with 7:46 to play in the third to tie the score for No. 12-2A Shakopee (6-3-1).
No. 16-2A Minnetonka (5-3-1) got first-period goals from Devin Berg and Ethan Sturgis.
Shakopee's Owen Lunneborg and Minnetonka's Ben Ferguson each recorded 27 saves.
ROGERS - Caz Carlson scored with 15 seconds left in the third period to lift Rock Ridge into a 3-3 overtime tie with No. 2-2A Rogers at the Rogers Ice Arena.
Carlson also scored with 2:14 left in the second period as the Wolverines (6-3-1) rallied from a 2-0 deficit.
Parker Deschene and Nolen Geerdes each had a goal and an assist for Rogers (8-1-1).
Carlson added an assist to his two goals while Cal Scott had a goal and an assist for Rock Ridge.
ST. LOUIS PARK - Brody Dustin had a hat trick to lead Stillwater to an 8-3 win over Benilde-St. Margaret's at the St. Louis Park Rec Center in a matchup of top 10 teams.
Dustin, a senior forward, scored twice in the third period when the No. 8-2A Ponies (8-1-0) erupted for four goals.
Stillwater opened a 3-0 lead after two goals by Luke Geisbauer. No. 7-2A Benilde-St. Margaret's (4-3-0) scored the last two goals on the first period to trail 3-2.
The teams traded goals in the second before Stillwater's third-period explosion.
MOORHEAD - Moorhead opened a 4-0 lead and hung on for a 6-5 win over Warroad in a matchup of ranked teams at the Moorhead Sports Center.
Max Cullen scored twice as the No. 6-2A Spuds opened a 4-0 lead.
After Warroad's Taylor Humeniuk and Sam Hard scored 63 seconds apart in the second, Mason Kraft's second goal gave Moorhead (8-1-0) a 5-2 lead. Tyden Bergeson scored with 4:58 remaining in the second to push the Spuds' lead to 6-2 but Humeniuk scored again to make it 6-3.
No. 4-1A Warroad (4-3-1) got goals from Hard and Broden Hontvet in the third period.
BENSON - Zach Wrobleski completed his hat trick with 2:24 remaining and lifted Morris/Benson to a 6-5 win over Worthington at the Benson Civic Center.
Wrobleski scored to put the Storm (3-6-0) ahead 2-1 early in the second and 5-1 late in the second. Worthington (2-6-0) scored four unanswered goals, including two from Spenser Nickel, to tie the score at 5-5 with 5:41 remaining.
ROSEVILLE - Senior forward Jacob Villella scored the first three goals to give Roseville an early jolt en route to a 4-3 triumph over Blaine at the Roseville Ice Arena.
Villella's hat trick gives him 14 goals, tied for the fifth most in the state. Garrett Hites scored early in the third period for Roseville (6-4-0), putting the Raiders ahead 4-2.
Cooper Bayer scored twice for Blaine (6-3-0).
