MOORHEAD - Brooks Cullen scored 32 second into overtime to lift Moorhead past Grand Rapids 4-3 on Saturday at the Moorhead Sports Center.
Cullen, a senior committed to Michigan State, deflected a shot from Mason Kraft at the top of the circles past Grand Rapids goaltender Carter Casey.
The goal was the second of the game for Cullen, who scored the lone goal of the first period.
Grand Rapids' Jameson Duell forced the overtime period by scoring with 52 seconds left in regulation.
Kraft, committed to Mankato State, finished with three assists, for the No. 4-2A Spuds ( 2-1-0).
Carter Casey made 43 saves for the No. 18 Thunderhawks (2-1-0).
WOODBURY - Brent Solomon had a goal and three assists and Cameron Dreifke made 35 saves as Champlin Park beat St. Louis Park 5-3 in the championship game of the Woodbury Thanksgiving Tournament at M Health Fairview Sports Center.
No. 16-2A Champlin Park (2-0-0) scored three unanswered goals spanning parts of the second and third periods. Solomon's goal 5:14 into the third period capped the flurry and put the Rebels ahead 5-2.
Trey Janssen's goal with 6:36 left in the second period pulled St. Louis Park (3-1-0) into a 2-2 tie.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. - East Grand Forks, winless against Minnesota competition, beat an arch rival from North Dakota for the second time in as many days as it slipped past Grand Forks Central 3-2.
The No. 6-1A Green Wave (2-3-0) defeated Grand Forks Red River 7-2 on Friday. Central was No. 1 and Red River No. 2 in North Dakota's preseason coaches poll.
Jace Van Eps scored twice in the first period and Hunter Varnson scored what proved to be the winning goal 8 seconds into the second period.
East Grand Forks goaltender Noah Schindele made 25 saves.
MONTICELLO - Landen Scherer scored twice and added an assist and goaltender Logan Blahnik made 27 saves as Monticello grabbed a big early lead and hung on to beat Orono 5-4 at Moose Sherritt Ice Arena.
Junior forward Jackson Knight scored twice for No. 12-1A Orono (3-1-0) and leads the state with nine goals and 17 points. Senior Trey Landa also scored twice for the Spartans. He's tied for fifth in state scoring with 10 points.
Scherber put No. 11-1A Monticello (1-0-0) ahead 5-2 midway through the third period. Orono answered with goals from Knight and Landa.
MAPLEWOOD - Boden Sampair scored with 71 seconds left in the first period at No. 6-2A Hill-Murray (2-0-0) never looked back in the Pioneers' 7-1 win over No. 2-1A Hermantown at Aldrich Arena.
Sampair's goal broke a 1-1 tie and started a string of six-straight Hill-Murray goals. Sampair and Chaz Lentz each scored twice for the Pioneers.
The Hawks (0-1-1) were without captain River Freeman, who scored the tying goal against Cretin-Derham Hall Friday night.
HIBBING - Max Bennett recorded a hat trick and Owen Nelson stopped 19 of 20 shots as No. 3-2A Cretin-Derham Hall recorded a 6-1 win over No. 4-1A Hibbing/Chisholm at Hibbing Memorial Building.
Bennett scored the game's opening goal and added goals in the second and third periods. The Raiders (1-0-1) scored the game's first four goals.
Tate Swanson scored in the second for Hibbing/Chisholm (2-2-0).
