ANDOVER - Mason Jenson and Keaton Weis scored for Rogers as it hung on to beat Andover 2-1 on Thursday at the Andover Community Center as the 2024-25 season opened with 10 games across the state.
Weis' goal came early in the third period and put the No. 2-Class 2A Royals ahead 2-0.
No. 14-2A Andover rallied on a goal by Camden Langfeld with 3:24 remaining. Cash Cruitt made 30 saves for the Huskies, who were outshot 32-18.
SHAKOPEE - Cooper Siegert scored twice and Owen Lunneborg stopped seven shots for the shutout as Shakopee opened its season with a runaway 6-0 triumph over Eagan at the Shakopee Ice Arena.
No. 4-2A Shakopee took control with a five-goal second period. Siegert scored both his goals in the second, and top returning scorer Cooper Simpson added a goal.
MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis scored twice in the final minute of the third period, and Johan Krasean's goal with 12 seconds left forced overtime against Two Rivers at the Parade Ice Garden in Minneapolis.
Two Rivers led 5-3 early in the third period on a goal from Luke Christopherson.
