Chanhassen scored four unanswered goals in the first period on its way to a 6-1 victory over Cretin-Derham Hall on Friday in a state Class 2A semifinal at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Jack Christ scored twice and Brayden Willis and Tyler Smith added goals for the No. 2-seeded Storm (25-5-0) in the first. 

Goals from Willis and Christ (his second of the game) came 21 seconds apart in the first. Chanhassen, ranked No. 5 in Class 2A, outshot unseeded and unranked Cretin-Derham Hall (18-11-1) 15-3 in the opening period.

Chanhassen's Caden Lee scored the lone goal of the second period with with 2.3 seconds left.

Cam Autrey scored the lone goal for Cretin-Derham Hall 6:36 into the third period, ruining Chanhassen goaltender Kam Hendrickson’s bid for a second straight tourney shutout. 

Chanhassen defenseman Owen Buesgens completed the scoring with 3:23 remaining.

The Storm outshot the Raiders 31-11.

Jack Christ’s second goal put came just 24 seconds after teammate Brayden Willis had scored and put Chanhassen ahead 3-0. With the Storm possessing one of the state’s best goaltenders in Kam Hendrickson and a shutdown defensive corps, a second comeback victory from a three-goal deficit in as many days seemed highly unlikely for Cretin-Derham Hall.

21-2 - Since starting the season losing three of his first five games, Kam Hendrickson has led Chanhassen to 21 wins in the last 23 games. He has only allowed more than two goals once this season.

9-1 - In the first two periods, Jack Christ was 9-1 on face-offs, proving he can do more than score. Christ scored two of the Storm's first four goals.

17 - Chanhassen has scored six or more goals 17 times this season and in both of its state tourney games.
