Minnetonka, undefeated, ranked No. 1 in the state and the defending state Class 2A champion, have three players among the 10 Mr. Hockey finalists announced on Friday by the Minnesota All Sports Alliance.
Forwards Hagen Burrows and Javon Moore and defenseman John Stout all made the list of finalists for the 40th annual Mr. Hockey award, given to the state’s top senior forward based on voting by media members, National Hockey League scouts and junior scouts and coaches.
The Skippers (24-0-2) also landed goaltender Hunter Bauer among the three finalists for the Frank Brimsek Award, given annually to the state’s top senior goaltender.
The other Mr. Hockey finalists are Edina’s Jackson Nevers, Warroad’s Carson Pilgrim, White Bear Lake’s Nolan Roed, Chanhassen’s Gavin Uhlenkamp, Roseau’s Noah Urness, Wayzata’s Rhys Wallin and Providence Academy’s Louie Wehmann.
The other Frank Brimsek Award finalists are Kam Hendrickson of Chanhassen and A.J. Reyelts of Proctor.
The Mr. Hockey awards banquet is set for 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre.
