ROSEAU - Jake Halvorson's goal 1:41 into overtime Tuesday gave Roseau a 3-2 victory over Warroad at Roseau Memorial Arena as one of the nation's great high school rivalries produced yet another thrilling, nose-to-nose finish.
Halverson's goal, a blast off a pass through the crease from Noah Urness, was his second of the game and third point, as he assisted on Urness' second-period goal that tied the score at 1-1.
Warroad's Taven James tied the score at 2-2 with 1:39 left in regulation when he one-timed a pass from the far boards into a mostly open net.
Carson Pilgrim scored the lone goal of the first period. He leads No. 2-1A Warroad (12-3-0) with 17 goals.
Urness, the state scoring leader with 48 points, assisted on both of Halvorson's goals. Roseau improved to 11-3-0 with the victory over its longtime (the series dates to the 1940s) Canadian border town rival.
ROGERS - Keaton Weis scored twice in the third period as Rogers pulled away to a 4-1 victory over Maple Grove at Rogers Ice Arena in a matchup of Section 5AA rivals.

The goal, which came just 18 seconds into the extra session, was the first of the season for McGinn, a senior defenseman.
Josh Sauro put Cambridge-Isanti (7-8-0) ahead 1-0 late in the first period and the score remained unchanged until Valtteri Luhtalampi scored with 1:05 left for Denfeld (9-4-1).
GOLDEN VALLEY - Nate Miller's empty net goal with 1:29 remaining proved to be the winner as a flurry of goals were scored in the closing minutes of Breck's 4-3 victory over Providence Academy at Anderson Ice Arena.
