SOUTH ST. PAUL - Senior forward Blake Vandehoef's penalty shot goal helped lift Hastings past Woodbury 4-2 on Thursday in the championship game of the South St. Paul Premier at Doug Woog Arena.
Vandehoef scored his team-leading 12th goal of the season, and second of the game, after being awarded a penalty shot with 6:07 left in regulation. He put the Raiders (8-4-0) ahead 3-1 with the goal.
Aiden Grossklaus' power-play goal pulled Woodbury (6-6-0) to within 3-2 with 5:19 remaining.
The teams met in the tournament's championship game for the third straight year, with Woodbury winning last season and Hastings two years ago.
MAPLE GROVE - Ben Doll's goal with 6:32 remaining proved to be the game winner Thursday as Andover knocked off Hill-Murray 4-2 in the second round of The Premiere Holiday Classic in the Grove at Maple Grove Community Center.
Doll put the No. 13-2A Huskies (6-5-0) ahead 3-2 and teammate Anthony Pardo added an empty-net goal with 34 seconds remaining.
Landon Cottingham and Boden Sampair scored for No. 8-2A Hill-Murray (5-2-2).
PLYMOUTH - Cade De St. Hubert scored twice to help lead undefeated Wayzata past Rogers 4-2 at Plymouth Ice Arena in a second-round game of the The Premiere Holiday Classic at the PIC.
The victory improves No. 2-2A Wayzata to 10-0-1 and sets up an unbeaten versus unbeaten showdown at 2:45 p.m. Friday against No. 1-2A Minnetonka (10-0-0) in the third round of the tournament. Minnetonka beat Lakeville South 9-1 on Thursday.
The loss was the second straight and third in four games for No. 4-2A Rogers (7-3-1).
ROCHESTER - Blaik Bjork, Patrick Kroski and Maddux Domagala each scored twice as Luverne remained the lone unbeaten team in Class 1A with an 8-3 victory over Albert Lea at Graham Arena in the second round of the Rochester Kiwanis Hockey Festival's Blue Division.
No. 17-1A Luverne improved to 10-0-0 with the victory. Class 2A powerhouses Minnetonka and Wayzata are the only other unbeaten teams in the state.
