SHAKOPEE - Sophomore Cooper Siegert scored twice and added three assists as Shakopee beat Lakeville South 7-5 on Thursday at Shakopee Ice Arena for what is believed to be the Sabers' first win over the Cougars in program history.
Siegert's goal 7:06 into the third period put No. 11-2A Shakopee (8-1-1) ahead 6-3. Carson Steinhoff added a goal 30 seconds later to make it 7-3.
Brayden Olsen and Tristan Lawrence scored for No. 16-2A Lakeville South (5-1-0) in the final minutes of the third.
CHAMPLIN - Brent Solomon scored three or more goals for the third time this season, and his hat trick led Champlin Park to a 6-4 victory over Centennial at the Champlin Ice Forum.
Solomon, a junior forward, has 18 goals this season, tied for third most in the state.
PLYMOUTH - Brittan Alstead scored with 5:06 remaining as Wayzata remained unbeaten with a 5-4 victory over Stillwater at the Plymouth Ice Center.
No. 2-2A Wayzata (8-0-0) led 3-1 after the first and 4-2 late in the second, but Stillwater (3-5-0) rallied on goals by Brody Dustin with 19 seconds left in the second period and Luke Myers 10:46 into the third.
Dustin had two goals for Stillwater and Brooks Gengler had two for Wayzata.
COON RAPIDS - Jack Enberg scored twice in the third period to lead Coon Rapids to an 8-6 victory over Duluth East at the Coon Rapids Ice Center.
Tyler Barnsness scored three goals for Coon Rapids (4-2-0) and Thomas Gunderson had two for Duluth East (2-8-0), but it was Enberg, a junior forward, who broke a 6-6 tie with his two late goals.
The game was a rematch of a Section 7AA semifinal last season, won 4-1 by Duluth East. Coon Rapids has since been shifted into Section 5AA.
VICTORIA - Holy Family remained unbeaten through six games as it outlasted Eastview 3-1 at the Victoria Recreation Center.
Holden Pajor and Bryce Wiitala scored the only goals of the second period to give the No. 9-2A Fire (5-0-1) a 2-0 lead.
Kevin Woehler scored the lone goal for No. 18-2A Eastview (5-5-0).
MINNETONKA - Defending state Class 2A champion Minnetonka cruised to its seventh victory in as many games, beating Grand Rapids 3-1 at the Pagel Activity Center and outshooting the Thunderhawks 57-7.
Adam House, Hagen Burrows and Ashton Schultz scored for the No. 1-2A Skippers (7-0-0). Jacob Garski opened the scoring in the first period for Grand Rapids (6-5-0).
