Hockey Night: Gentry Academy rolls past Park

Dec. 20: Balanced scoring helps Stars earn seventh win; Spring Lake Park, Eden Prairie, Armstrong/Cooper notch victories

Gentry Academy 4, Park 1

COTTAGE GROVE - Ryder Betzold, Eli Bailey and Easton Rooney each had goal and an assist as Gentry Academy beat Park 4-1 on Wednesday at Cottage Grove Ice Arena.

Betzold's goal 1:20 into the final period put the Stars (7-3-0) ahead 3-0. Malachi McMorrow pulled Park (3-3-0) to within 3-1 midway through the final period. 

Bailey's empty net goal with 1:58 left clinched the victory for Gentry Academy, which won its fourth straight.

Spring Lake Park 5, St. Paul Highland Park 4

BLAINE - Senior defenseman Ian Roell had a goal and two assists as Spring Lake Park hung on to beat St. Paul Highland Park 5-4 at Fogerty Arena.

Dylan Stocke's goal with 5:50 remaining put Spring Lake Park (2-3-2) ahead 5-3.

Isaac Johnson scored with 5 seconds for Highland Park (5-4-0) -left to make it a one-goal final. The goal was Johnson's second of the game.

Eden Prairie 4, Prior Lake 1

EDEN PRAIRIE - Billie Jacobson-Couch scored back-to-back goals 13 seconds apart in the third period as Eden Prairie built a four-goal lead en route to its 4-1 triumph over Prior Lake at the Eden Prairie Community Center.

The goals were the first and second of the season for Jacobson-Couch, a senior forward.

Prior Lake's Matthew Pavek ended Eden Prairie goaltender Isaiah Paulnock's shutout bid by scoring with 8:05 remaining. Paulnock finished with 22 saves for the No. 13-2A Eagles (4-3-0).

Tyler Coglitore made 24 saves for Prior Lake (3-5-1).

Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper 6, Hopkins 2

NEW HOPE - Tate Gladney has three assists and Ryan Melsha stopped 26 shots as Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper eased past Hopkins 6-2 at the New Hope Ice Arena.

Hopkins scored twice in the closing minutes of the second period to pull to within 4-2, but the Wings (4-5-0) regained their two-goal cushion on Logan Gatti's shorthanded goal early in the third period.

William Degan and Bo Stevens scored for Hopkins (2-5-0).
