ST. LOUIS PARK - David Wolsfeld and Jonny Grove each scored twice for Mahtomedi, which surged to an early three-goal lead and held on to beat Benilde-St. Margaret's 6-4 at the St. Louis Park Rec Center on Monday in one of 10 games played statewide.
Wolsfeld and Grove each scored in the first period, which ended with No. 3-1A Mahtomedi (10-3-0) leading 3-0.
No. 9-2A Benilde-St. Margaret's (10-5-0) closed to within 3-2 early in the third period, 4-3 midway through the final period and 5-4 with 50 seconds remaining on a Wes Berg goal.
Grove and Wolsfeld, both senior forwards, each scored in the third period as the Zephyrs and Red Knights traded goals.
Berg and freshman Mason Minor each had a goal and an assist for Benilde-St. Margaret's. Minor's goal was the first of his varsity career.
Mahtomedi's victory halted the Red Knights' six-game win streak.

ROCHESTER - Ethan Dennis scored twice, including the game-winning goal with 7:58 remaining, as Rochester Mayo beat Northfield 4-2 in a matchup of Big 9 Conference leaders at Graham Arena.
Dennis, a senior forward, also scored a second-period power-play goal to give Rochester Mayo (10-3-1) a 1-0 lead heading into the third. He scored in the third when he pushed the puck forward off a face-off in the Northfield end, then maneuver around his opposing center for a shot that eluded the Raiders' Keaton Walock. Dennis leads the Spartans with 12 goals.
Ryan Dripps added a breakaway goal with 3:32 remaining.
Kamden Kaiser and Andrew Winter scored for No. 6-1A Northfield (10-4-0).

APPLE VALLEY - Zach Wooten scored consecutive goals in the second period to help propel Eastivew past Shakopee 6-2 at Apple Valley Sports Arena.
Wooten, a junior forward, broke a 2-2 tie with his goal 4:40 into the second period. Wooten made it 4-2 with 6:26 left in the period. He leads the No. 17-2A Lighting (9-5-0) with 23 points.
No. 15-2A Shakopee (9-4-0) tied it at 2-2 in the first period on a goal by Grant Haug. Jake Marschall also scored for the Sabers, who got 32 saves from goaltender Aleksi Huson. Shakopee had won four straight entering the game.
Charlie Ortman had a goal and three assists and Jay Svaren made 20 saves for Eastview.

EAGAN - Tate Pritchard scored three goals and had three assists to lead Lakeville South to an 8-1 South Suburban Conference victory over Eagan at the Eagan Civic Arena.
Pritchard, a senior forward, scored twice in the first period as No. 11-2A Lakeville South (7-4-1) took a 4-0 lead. Pritchard completed his hat trick midway through the third period. The goal was his team-leading 11th of the season.
Ashton Dahms added two goals for the Cougars.
Grayson Robbins scored the lone goal for Eagan (3-10-0) early in the second period.

ST. PAUL - Junior forward Charlie Goergen's goal midway through the third-period allowed Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper to outlast St. Paul Highland Park 3-2 at Highland Arena.
Highland Park (8-6-1) pulled to within 2-1 in the third on Isaac Johnson's goal 3:04 into the period. Armstrong/Cooper (7-7-0) regained its two-goal lead on Goergen's goal with 7:56 remaining.
Charlie Eischens scored for the Scots with 31 seconds left. The senior forward leads Highland Park with 20 points.
Henry Dimich made 14 saves for Armstrong/Cooper; Ben Olson had 32 stops for Highland Park.
