VICTORIA - Jack Christ's second-period goal proved to be the game-winner as Chanhassen handed Orono its second loss of the season by defeating the Spartans 3-1 on Tuesday at Victoria Recreation Center.
Christ's goal gave No. 4-2A Chanhassen (13-1-0) a 2-0 lead. Tyler Smith scored in the first for the Storm, who outshot Orono 33-20.
Brooks Fevers brought No. 4-1A Orono (10-2-0) within one with 4:52 left in the second but that was as close as it would get.
Jake Risch added an empty-net goal for Chanhassen, which got 19 saves from goaltender Kam Hendrickson. Brock Peyton made 30 saves for Orono.

WARROAD - Jayson Shaugabay scored three goals and added two assists to lead undefeated Warroad to a 7-4 victory over arch rival Roseau on Tuesday at The Gardens Arena in Warroad.
Carson Pilgrim scored twice in the opening 5:32 for No. 2-1A Warroad (12-0-0) as it grabbed a 4-1 first-period lead.
Shaugabay made it 5-1 early in the second period but Roseau (9-5-0) rallied on back-to-back goals from Noah Urness midway through the second to pull to within 5-3.
Shaugabay scored late in the second to make 6-3 and completed his hat trick early in the third. His five points give him 42 this season and 250 for his career, tied for the 20th most in state history with Bruce Aikens of Rochester John Marshall (1974-78) and Garrett Hendrickson of Virginia/Mt. Iron-Buhl (2008-11).

LITTLE FALLS - Kellen Stenstrom scored twice and Ben Swanson made 36 saves to lead Fergus Falls to a 4-2 victory over Little Falls at Exchange Arena.
No. 8-1A Fergus Falls (7-3-1) held leads of 2-0 and 3-1 in the second period. Joey Welinski scored for No. 16-1A Little Falls (5-6-1) with 1:29 left in the second to cut the Flyers' deficit to 3-2.
Stenstrom's empty net goal with 1:20 left in regulation completed the scoring. The junior forward leads the Otters with 13 goals.

MAHTOMEDI - Jake Fisher's four-point night (two goals and two assists) powered Cretin-Derham Hall to a 6-2 win over Mahtomedi in a matchup of top-10 teams in their respective classes at the St. Croix Valley Recreation Center.
Fisher opened the scoring for No. 7-2A Cretin-Derham Hall (10-4-1) as the Raiders built a 4-0 lead early in the second on Trey Gnetz's goal 3:35 into the period.
No. 3-1A Mahtomedi (7-3-0) answered with a Charlie Drage goal 17 seconds later and one by Seth Nelson with 4:52 left in the second.
Fisher scored on the power play 2:50 into the third, his team-leading 20th of the season to put the Raiders ahead 5-2.
Owen Nelson stopped 25 shots for Cretin-Derham Hall.

APPLE VALLEY - Kaizer Nelson recorded his third shutout of the season as Minnetonka defeated Eastview 5-0 at Apple Valley Sports Arena.
Nelson stopped 14 shots for No. 2-2A Minnetonka (10-2-0), which had five players score. Gavin Garry recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Skippers.
Jay Svaren made 38 saves for No. 14-2A Eastview (7-4-0).
Nelson, a senior, ranks third in the state with a 1.19 goals-against average and is 10th with a .929 save percentage.

ROCHESTER - Kody Niederkorn made 26 saves for his third shutout of the season as Hastings defeated Rochester Century 3-0 at Graham Arena.
Hastings (7-2-1) scored a goal in each period in the matchup of Section 1AA foes. Blake Vandehoef, Mark DeNoyer and Joseph Iovino scored goals for the Raiders.
Kyle Lappi had 19 saves for Rochester Century (6-6-0).

SHAKOPEE - Cooper Simpson's offensive show continued with a five-point night as Shakopee defeated Rosemount 7-3 at Shakopee Ice Arena.
Simpson, a sophomore forward, scored four goals and added an assist for No. 20-2A Shakopee (6-3-0). He had a hat trick in the Sabers' 6-3 win over Prior Lake Saturday and two goals in a loss to Hermantown Dec. 31. He leads Shakopee with 14 goals.
Jackson Vogel added two goals and two assists for the Sabers, bumping his season point total to a team-best 21.
Ty Hansen had a goal and an assist while Jake Toll recorded two assists for Rosemount (4-8-0).

HOPKINS - Oliver Duininck scored twice in the third period as Blake scored four times in the final period in all to upend Providence Academy 9-5 at Blake Ice Arena.
Duininck finished with four goals as he scored two at even strength and one each on the power play and penalty kill for Blake (8-4-0). He was also credited with an assist.
Rowan Heithoff added two goals and three assists.
John Hendrickson and Sammy Lewis each scored two goals and were credited with an assist for No. 11-1A Providence Academy (7-6-0).

MOUND - Joseph Pouchnik scored twice and Mason Evenson stopped 22 shots to lead Mound Westonka to a 7-1 upset victory over Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato at Thaler Sports Center.
Mound Westonka (4-6-0) scored the first six goals before the No. 13-1A Dragons (9-3-1) scored their lone goal early in the third period.
