This week promises more off-the-chain excitement, with a dozen or so compelling matchups. We highlighted two of the more obvious ones before the season (today’s Benilde-St. Margaret's at Andover and Chanhassen at Chaska showdowns), so we’re excluding them from this list.
Junior Louie Wehman, who has nine goals in three games, and senior John Hendrickson (12 points) lead 3-0-0 Providence Academy, ranked No. 6 in Class 1A, into a Section 2A matchup against Minneapolis, the defending section champion. ... Both No. 2-1A Warroad and Grand Rapids are undefeated entering the week, setting up what could be a potential battle of unbeatens on Saturday. … No. 1-1A Hermantown (2-0-0) travels south to the metro for a second straight weekend to play its third consecutive Class 2A opponent in Centennial (2-2-0) on Saturday.
