APPLE VALLEY - Tommy Cronin scored twice and Tyler Magozzi made 23 saves on Wednesdays as St. Thomas Academy used a pair of late goals to break open a tight game and beat Eastview 3-0 at Apple Valley Sports Arena.
Cronin, a senior forward, opened the scoring late in the second period. He made it 2-0 lake in the third when he beat standout Lightning goaltender Jay Savaren in a race to the puck, corralling it at the top of the circles and dumping it into an empty net with 2:17 remaining.
St. Thomas Academy's Jordan Tachney scored an empty-net goal with 50 seconds remaining as the Cadets improved to 3-0-0 with the victory over their Section 3AA rival.
The loss was the first of the season for Eastview (2-1-0).

GOLDEN VALLEY - Charles Vacek scored a power-play goal with 2:48 left in overtime to lift Waconia past Breck 2-1 at Anderson Ice Arena.
Drew Puchner opened the scoring with a first-period goal for Waconia (3-0-0).
Breck (0-2-0), led by first-year coach David Maley, a former Edina star and longtime NHLer, tied it at 1-1 on a second-period goal from Nate Miller.

BLOOMINGTON - Joe Shepard's power-play goal in the second period proved to be the winner as unbeaten Two Rivers slipped past Bloomington Jefferson 2-1 at Bloomington Ice Garden.
Two Rivers' Casey Ball scored the only goal of the first period and Shepards's was the lone goal in the second. Two Rivers improved to 3-0-0 with the win.
Maximo San Roman scored midway through the third period to pull the Jaguars, making their season debut, to within a goal.

BLAINE - Irondale's Johnny Slack scored the lone goal of the third period to tie the score and force overtime as the Knights and Spring Lake Park skated to a 2-2 tie at Fogarty Arena.
Alex Sabev made 44 saves for Irondale (1-1-1), including eight in the overtime period.
Jacob Rombach and Joseph Shipman scored for Spring Lake Park (0-0-1).

CHAMPLIN - Jordan Ronn and Evan Williams each scored twice as Champlin Park cruised past Forest Lake 5-2 at the Champlin Ice Forum.
Ronn scored goals 2:30 apart midway through the second period to push the Rebels' lead to 4-0. Champlin Park improved to 2-1-0.
Gavin Wille and Caden Speidel scored for Forest Lake (0-1-0), which was outshot 48-13.
