Sophomore defenseman Eddie Revenig’s power-play goal with 4:39 remaining lifted Edina to a 2-1 victory over Lakeville South Saturday at Braemar Arena.
The game was something of a New Year's Day special, as it was the only one played in the state.
Trey Fechko scored on a third-period breakaway as the No.-2A Hornets (8-3-0) rallied for the victory despite being outshot 39-24.
Junior Robbie Clarkowski made 18 of his 38 saves in the first period, which was played mostly in the Edina end.
Senior Joe Guentzel scored in the second period for No. 3-2A Lakeville South (9-2-0), which got 22 saves from Jack Hochsprung.
