Hockey Night: Godbout powers Hill-Murray past White Bear Lake

Dec. 23: Centennial eases past Rosemount; Andover shuts out Blaine; Chanhassen forges tie with Minnetonka

Hill-Murray 2, White Bear Lake 1

VADNAIS HEIGHTS - Senior forward Dylan Godbout scored with 13:24 to play to give No. 8-2A Hill-Murray (6-2-0) a 2-1 win over rival White Bear Lake (4-4-0) on Thursday at the TCO Sports Garden.

White Bear Lake took a 1-0 lead in the first when Joe Belisle scored. Godbout recorded his first goal of the night 3:13 into the second period to tie the score. He then got the game-winner early in the third.

Godbout, a Wisconsin commit, leads the Pioneers with six goals and 11 points.

Hill-Murray goaltender Nick Erickson made 25 saves while White Bear Lake's Nicholas Pettman finished with 30.

Centennial 4, Rosemount 1

ROSEMOUNT - Centennial's Drake Ramirez scored just more than a minute into the game and the Cougars didn't look back in their 4-1 win over Rosemount at the Rosemount Community Center.

No. 17-2A Centennial (5-1-0) also got a first-period goal from Peyton Blair.

Rosemount (4-2-0) got a goal from Zach Sweitzer as the Irish cut the lead to 2-1. However, Centennial's Brody Pass scored in the period's final 55 seconds for a 3-1 lead.

The Cougars' Owen Van Tassel then added a power-play goal in the third.

Centennial's Jack Fuller made 31 saves as Rosemount outshot the Cougars 32-22.

Chanhassen 3, Minnetonka 3 (OT)

MINNETONKA - Caden Lee scored back-to-back goals in the second period as Chanhassen (4-2-1) forged a 3-3 overtime tie with No. 10-2A Minnetonka (6-3-1) at the Pagel Activity Center. 

Javon Moore scored twice for Minnetonka, and his goal midway through the second put the Skippers ahead 3-1. But Lee scored his first goal just 15 seconds after Moore's second goal as the Storm rallied.

Andover 4, Blaine 0

ANDOVER - No. 4-2A Andover (7-1-1) used two first-period goals to open a quick lead over Blaine (3-3-2) as the Huskies recorded a 4-0 at the Andover Community Center.

Andover's Cooper Conway and Gavyn Thoreson each scored goals in the first period. Kyle Law added a second-period goal and Ben Doll netted a short-handed goal in the third.

Cayden Casey was credited with two assists and Austin Brauns made 21 saves to record the shutout.

Albert Lea 3, Minnehaha Academy 1

MINNEAPOLIS - Albert Lea's Tim Chalmers scored with four seconds left in the second period to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead as they recorded a 3-1 win over Minnehaha Academy at the Minnehaha Academy Ice Arena.

The Redhawks (0-7-0) took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Will Degan in the first period.

Albert Lea (4-2-0) tied i at 1-1 in the second on a goal by Spencer VanBeek before Chalmers netted the eventual game-winner.

Max Edwin added an empty-net goal for the Tigers.

Albert Lea recorded a 6-5 overtime win over Minnehaha Academy Dec. 14.

Eagan 5, Owatonna 4 (OT)

EAGAN - Leighton Olson stuffed in the game-winning goal with 3:08 left in overtime as Eagan (4-4-0) recorded a 5-4 come-from-behind win over Owatonna (1-7-0) at the Eagan Civic Arena.

Eagan, which trailed 2-1 after two periods, got two goals in the third period's first 39 seconds. Ben Barbato tied the score 31 seconds into the period. Eight seconds later, Dylan Wedward scored to give the Wildcats a 3-2 lead.

Caleb Vereide tied the score for Owatonna before Tanner Stendahl's second goal gave the Huskies a 4-3 lead with 6:35 to play.

Eagan's Rowen Phillips scored with 24 seconds to send the game into overtime and set the stage for Olson' power-play goal in OT.
