Roseau 7, Moorhead 6 OT

MOORHEAD - Senior forward Max Strand completed his hat trick by scoring 4:18 into overtime to lift Roseau to a wild 7-6 victory over Moorhead on Tuesday at the Moorhead Sports Center in a matchup of longtime Section 8AA rivals.

Roseau's Kellen Murphy finished a goal and five assists. Three of his assists came on consecutive second-period goals as the No. 12-2A Rams (4-1-0)  rallied from a 4-2 deficit to take a 5-3 lead.

Carson Triggs scored with 3:40 remaining for No. 9-2A Moorhead (2-3-0) to tie the score at 6-6 and force the extra session.

The teams have dominated Section 8AA, playing for the title 10 times since 2005, including six-straight meetings from 2005 to 2010. Only four times since 1990 has a team other than Roseau or Moorhead represented the section at the state tournament.
