Two coaches with more than 500 career victories in Benilde-St. Margaret’s Ken Pauly and Eden Prairie’s Lee Smith will match both wits and revamped lineups.
No. 16-2A Eden Prairie, in a deep-cycle rebuilding mode after winning the state Class 2A title last season, enters a new era led by a potential new varsity superstar in sophomore Teddy Townsend, who dominated at the Bantam AA level the past two seasons.
No. 5-2A Benilde-St. Margaret’s has a couple of Mr. Hockey candidates in forward Adam Marshall and defenseman Tristan Sarsland. But the Red Knights’ season will most likely hinge on the play of a superb eight-member sophomore class led by forward Drew Stewart.
