His first-period goal looked like it would hold up as the winner for much of the game. After White Bear Lake tied it late, Shermoen became the setup man on Nathan Garski’s winning goal.

2. Carter Casey, Grand Rapids
The sophomore goaltender played with poise beyond his years, stopping 24 of 25 shots.

3. Jack Stanius, White Bear Lake
He hit the crossbar late in the third period but the hockey gods rewarded him minutes later, as Stanius, who missed much of the season because of injury, scored on a well-placed shot that beat Casey on the blocker side.
