St. Thomas Academy vs. Hill-Murray

7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11
Aldrich Arena, Maplewood

While the goaltending has been superb for St. Thomas Academy, the Cadets have been humming at peak efficiency with all parts of their game. Defensemen Brody Dietz (12 points) and Patch Cronin (11 points) have been rock steady two-way performers.

And senior forward Tommy Cronin, Patch’s older brother, continues playing at a Mr. Hockey-finalist level. Tommy Cronin has scored at least one point in all but one game this season and reached a stunning high of seven points in a 7-1 win over Hastings on Jan. 24. Keep an eye on Cadets’ X-factor Cole Braunshausen. The 5-foot-6 freshman forward has five goals in 10 games, including a hat trick against Tartan on Jan. 28.

Speaking of youth movements, No. 18-2A Hill-Murray (10-10-1) is in the midst of one with eighth-grade forwards Riley Zupfer and Caden Zasada and freshman defenseman Casper Lang all playing key roles.
