Park Rapids vs. Kittson Central

2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11
Hallock Ice Arena, Hallock

It’s been the Tyler Hennen Show for most of the second half of the season as the Kittson Central senior, who recently committed to Augustana, racks up mind-blowing scoring totals game after game. Hennen, the state leader in goals with 62 and points with 105, has scored no fewer than three goals in each of his past six games, including back-to-back six-goal outings against Wadena-Deer Creek on Jan. 27 and Lake of the Woods on Jan. 31.

Kittson Central (12-8-1) has scored seven or more goals in each of its last five games and entered the week unbeaten in its last six. The Bearcats lost to Park Rapids, Saturday’s opponent in Hallock, in the the teams’ first meeting (the Panthers won 3-2 in Park Rapids on Jan. 7).

Park Rapids (12-7-1) suffered a third-period meltdown in Monday’s 6-4 loss to Bagley/Fosston, allowing five consecutive goals as it squandered a 3-1 lead. The Panthers, who have been at near the top of the Mid-State Conference standings for much of the season, are led by the higih-scoring duo of senior Joey Hillukka (18 goals) and junior Jeron Pinoniemi (17 goals).
