Hill-Murray vs. White Bear Lake

4:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28
Hockey Day Outdoor Game | Polar Lakes Park, White Bear Lake

Hill-Murray’s trademark green versus White Bear Lake’s blaze orange. Pioneers versus Bears. Public versus private. White Bear Lake scoring phenom and St. Cloud State commit Nolan Roed versus Hill-Murray goaltender extraordinaire Jack Erickson. The regional Bally Sports North television broadcast of the game will have nothing if not an abundance of juicy story lines from which to explore.

Erickson grew up playing in the White Bear Lake youth system and has been a model of consistency in an otherwise topsy turvy year for the Pioneers (6-8-1). The senior entered the week with a .919 save percentage and 2.43 goals-against average.

Roed, a 5-foot-11 junior, has team-highs of 17 goals and 32 points for the Bears. He’s scored at least one goal in six of White Bear Lake’s last seven games.
