Chanhassen vs. Benilde-St. Margaret's

7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 26
St. Louis Park Rec Center, St. Louis Park

Chanhassen, the only one-loss team in the state (Warroad is the lone unbeaten team), has rattled off 15 consecutive wins since a 6-3 season-opening setback to Andover on Nov. 25. The No. 3-2A Storm haven’t played a high-caliber Class 2A opponent since shutting out No. 11-2A Lakeville South 3-0 on Dec. 28.

In its 15 wins Chanhassen has allowed more than one goal twice and has posted seven shutouts, tied for the most in the state with Maple Grove. Chanhassen is allowing a state-low 1.00 goals-against per game and junior goaltender Kam Hendrickson’s .948 save percentage ranks second statewide. Junior Wisconsin commit Gavin Uhlenkamp leads the Storm with 27 points. Six Chanhassen players have seven or more goals.

No. 9-2A Benilde-St. Margaret’s (11-5-0) enters the week having won seven of eight. The Red Knights have allowed more than two goals once in that stretch despite top goaltender Mason McElroy missing time because of injury. Senior forward Wes Berg has a goal in each of his last four games and six of the last seven for nine goals in all, third most on the team.
