Holy Angels vs. Cloquet/Esko/Carlton

7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20
Cloquet Area Recreation Center, Cloquet

The future is now for Holy Angels (8-4-0), which has three freshmen among its top six in scoring. Stars' leading scorer Henry Lechner has 16 goals among his 30 points and, although just a sophomore, is something of a grizzled veteran compared to Cole Cheeseman (19 points), Gabe Perron (12 points) and Lincoln Ayers Assad (11 points), all 9th graders.

Holy Angels’ game in Cloquet on Friday is part of a two-day northern swing that includes a Saturday matchup against Duluth Marshall.

Junior Joseph Antonutti (17 points) and senior Patrick Dunaiski (15 points) form a potent one-two punch for Cloquet/Esko/Carlton (8-5-0), which has won five of its last eight. The Lumberjacks, a goaltending hotbed in recent seasons, again feature one of the state’s best. Junior Logan Sickmann has six wins and a 2.53 goals-against average.

The game is part of a hectic week for the Lumberjacks, who play arch rival No. 18-2A Duluth East (8-6-1) on Thursday.
