BENILDE-St. MARGARET's vs. Champlin Park

7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18
Champlin Ice Forum, Champlin

The scoreboard operator at the Ice Forum in Champlin will need to be on high alert Wednesday, as there’s a strong likelihood this game could bruise fingertips or fry circuit boards because of all the goals being entered.

These teams thrive on a getting up and down the ice at dragstrip speeds. No. 16-2A Champlin Park (10-4-0) has scored five or more goals nine times this season while No. 9-2A Benilde-St. Margaret’s (10-5-0) has matched or exceed the five-goal mark five times.

The Red Knights, who had their six-game win streak snapped in a 6-4 loss to No. 3-1A Mahtomedi on Monday, are led by junior forward Drew Stewart’s 16 goals and 31 points. Champlin Park, which had its five-game win streak halted last week in losses to Centennial and Rogers, has two 16-goal scorers in seniors Jordan Ronn and Evan Williams.

Which team will win?
Legacy pick: Benilde-St. Margaret's
