Hibbing/Chisholm vs. Duluth Denfeld

7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6
Heritage Sports Center, Duluth

The predicted demise of Duluth Denfeld (the Hunters were hit hard by graduation losses) may have been bit premature. Denfeld, Section 7A runner-up each of the last three seasons, have scored a combined 14 goals in season-opening victories over International Falls and Minneapolis. Andy Larson and Kaden Postal have combined for nine of Denfeld’s goals. Hibbing/Chisholm, ranked No. 9 in Class 1A, has reeled off three straight wins after season-opening losses to Class 2A powers Grand Rapids and White Bear Lake. Beau Frider, Broden Fawcett and Keeghan Fink share the team scoring lead with seven points. Brayden Boyer has been sharp in goal, posting a .918 save percentage. Both teams are fighting for next-best status in Section 7A behind Hermantown.
