Rogers vs. Andover

7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 8
Andover Community Center, Andover

Fans watching this one would be advised to keep their cell phones in their pockets. And not to blink. They might miss a goal. Or five. These teams can score in bunches. Or play shutdown defense, as evidenced by No. 2-2A Rogers’ 3-1 triumph over No. 5-2A Lakeville South on Saturday. It was a statement victory of sorts for the Royals (3-0-0), who have their sights set on reaching the state tournament for the first time in program history. Seniors Sam Ranallo and Matt Lomen share the team lead with three goals. Sophomore jitterbug Parker Deschene is off to a sizzling start to his varsity career with five points. No. 3-2A Andover (3-1-0) had a clunker of an outing against Minnetonka but has otherwise been steamrolling opponents. Cooper Conway, a senior Colorado College commit, scored four goals Friday in the defending state champion Huskies' 7-2 triumph over No. 12-2A Moorhead.

Which team will win?
