WAYZATA vs. Benilde-St. Margaret's

2:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10
St. Louis Park Rec Center, St. Louis Park

The annual jockeying for position in Section 6AA has begun in earnest, with Edina, Wayzata and Benilde-St. Margaret’s all playing each other in the first couple weeks of the season. No. 4-2A Wayzata (3-0-0) already has a win over Edina. Another over the No. 7-2 Red Knights would give the Trojans a big early edge over their chief rivals. Wayzata, typically a blue collar, grind-it-out outfit, has been playing more of a freewheeling style this season to great effect. Rhys Wallin has just two assists to show for his numerous slashes and dashes through opposing defenses but seemingly is on the verge of piling up big scoring numbers. The Red Knights lost their season opener 3-2 to Edina on Saturday. Ben Norris and Poul Anderson each had a goal and an assist in the loss.
